ACCOUNTING CLERK: PT (25 hours per week) non-exempt position. Salary Range 17 (62.5%) $ 2,511.66 – 3,052.94 mo. + excellent benefits. Under the supervision of the Finance Director, this position will support the Finance Department staff in utility billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash receipting. In addition, this position will research, track and resolve accounting problems, record transactions and reconcile various accounts to the general ledger, process purchase orders, bill miscellaneous accounts receivable, track transient room tax, maintain vendor information, lease records and reconcile bank and credit card statements. The Accounting Clerk will prepare monthly journal entries, assist other department staff with general office and clerical duties, answers phones, and assist customers. REQUIRES: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and at least three years of work experience including the use of computer programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Applicants must have basic knowledge of accounting principles and theory, organizational, verbal and written communication skills. As well as an ability to appropriately use ten-key calculator by touch and other office equipment. This position requires excellent customer service skills. Full charge bookkeeping experience a plus. This position is union represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
