The Warrenton Police Department is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Police Clerk Assistant. This role is crucial in supporting the administrative functions of our police department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, and assisting with public inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with filing and organizing documents.
  • Respond to public inquiries both in person and on the phone, and provide information as needed.
  • Support the administrative team with various clerical tasks.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in computer programs and using a computer.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Obtain and maintain a LEDS “Inquiry” level certification within one year.
  • Record must be free of any conviction for a felony and other select criminal violations.
  • OSP CJIS Security Clearance through an FBI Fingerprint submission.
  • Pass a comprehensive background investigation.

The ideal candidate MUST fully understand confidentiality and handle discrete and sensitive information.
