WPD Joins Oregon's Car Care Program

Warrenton, OR – The Warrenton Police Department has become a participant in Oregon’s Car Care Program. The program originally started with the Oregon State Police (OSP) who have since expanded the program to include the Oregon Association Chief’s of Police (OACP) and the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association (OSSA) to provide City Police Officers, County Sheriff’s Deputies, and State Police Troopers the ability to issue an “Oregon Car Care Voucher” that provides a discount on automotive parts purchased at participating auto parts stores (some restrictions will apply).

Sex Abuse Investigation and Arrest

Please see the attached press release on a Sex Abuse Investigation and Arrest of a 15-year-old male suspect. There is a possibility that there may be other juvenile victims in the Pacific Rim Neighborhood in southeast Warrenton.

WPD Investigates Graffiti in City Park, Reward Offered

Please see the attached Press Release on the recent graffiti vandalism at the City Park and the SE 2nd Kayak Dock. The Warrenton City Commission has offered a REWARD for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subject(s) responsible.

WPD Serves Search Warrant at Residence

On May 16, 2019 at 1:45pm officers from the Warrenton Police Department (WPD), Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Clatsop County Parole and Probation, and Department of Human Services (DHS) personnel served a search warrant at 526 NW Date Ave. in Warrenton. The warrant culminated a long and protracted investigation by all of the agencies after receiving several complaints from the neighborhood about suspicious activity involving people coming to and from the residence.

Countywide Citizen Police Academy Announced - WPD Participating

The 2019 Citizen Police Academy has been announced and applications are being accepted. This will be the second year that the academy utilizes officers from all law enforcement agencies in the county to instruct citizens on different aspects of law enforcement. The Academy will start on Tuesday April 16th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Seaside Police Department. The Academy will run every week for the next 10 weeks at various agency locations with an added Saturday (May 18th) for firearms training.
