Please see the attached Executive Order from Governor Kate Brown's office, issued today; Ordering Oregonians to Stay at Home, Closing Specified Retail Businesses, Requiring Social Distancing Measures for Other Public & Private Facilities, and Imposing Requirements for Outdoor Areas & Licensed Childcare Facilities.  

Public Notice - Emergency Meeting 3.21.2020

The Warrenton City Commission will hold an Emergency Meeting on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to declare an emergency in the City of Warrenton. A quorum may be held via telephone. The meeting location is Warrenton City Hall, Commission Chambers, 225 S. Main, Warrenton, Oregon.

Warrenton City Hall is accessible to the disabled. 

Public Notice Regarding 3.24.2020 City Commission Meeting

To comply with the recommended state and federal guidelines that are essential in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the March 24, 2020 City Commission meeting will be conducted at a reduced capacity of 25 individuals, with a limited seating arrangement to maintain social distancing. We do encourage you to stay home, however there are ways you can still participate in the meeting without increasing the risk of exposure. If you would like to make a public comment concerning items of interest, we are asking that you submit your comments by email no later than 5:00 p.m. March 24.

Warrenton Community Library Closing @ 1:00PM today 3/18

The Warrenton Community Library will be closing today at 1:00pm, March 18, 2020 and stay closed through April 3, 2020,  in response to guidance from the Clatsop County Health Department, the Oregon Health Authority, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Library staff will continue to providing alternative opportunities to streaming story times and other activities during the closure.

If you are concerned about limiting contact or risk of exposure to the coronavirus, the Warrenton Community Library will be offering to have our library staff pull books and hold them at the front desk for library patrons who want to quickly check out items from the library.

Mayor's Coffee Update

The 9:00 a.m. Monday Mayor's Coffee meetings will be held virtually, without a live audience, until further notice. The virtual meetings can be viewed on Mayor Balensifer's Facebook page. Please see the mayor's Facebook Live post at the following link:

Library Storytime Canceled for March

Due to concerns about limiting potential exposure to the coronavirus, the Warrenton Community Library is updating our list of programs we will be offering this month. At this time with no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Clatsop County, we want to join in the effort to limit contact and exposure.

The following programs at the Library will be canceled for March: Tuesday and Saturday Storytimes. The Movie the Lorax scheduled for tomorrow (3/14 @noon) is cancelled also.

City Statement About COVID-19 Corona Virus

The City of Warrenton is following announcements and guidance on the corona virus from Governor Kate Brown, the Oregon Health Authority, County officials, and the CDC. At this time, there are no reported cases in Clatsop County. However, in accordance with recent announcements from the governor, and other guidelines, the city is canceling large events, such as Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, scheduled for April 4.
