Economic Opportunity Analysis

The City of Warrenton completed an Economic Opportunity Analysis (EOA) in 2021. The below infographics provide more information about what the EOA is and why it is important. You can also view the final EOA below. 

The Economic Opportunities Analysis will be implemented through Comprehensive Plan Amendments and Development Code Revisions via public hearings with the Planning Commission and City Commission. To view upcoming agendas and meeting packets click here.

Wanted Warrenton Fugitive Arrested by US Marshals Service

On 04/28/2021 Sidney Crawford was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for Attempted Murder by the United States Marshals Service.

Crawford was originally arrested on February 25, 2021 by Warrenton Police Officers after he was reported to have poured gasoline on another person and threatened to light them both on fire. On that date Crawford was arrested on charges of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Menacing and lodged at the Clatsop County Jail. The case was referred to the Clatsop County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Public Notice - Executive Session

The Warrenton City Commission will hold an executive session after its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.  The executive session is under the authority of ORS 192.660(2)(h); to consult with counsel concerning the legal rights and duties of a public body with regard to current litigation or litigation to be filed.

The meeting location is Warrenton City Hall, Commission Chambers, 225 S. Main, Warrenton, Oregon. Executive Sessions are not open to the public.

 

 

 

WPD will Host a Drug Take-Back Event on April 24th

***DRUG TAKE-BACK EVENT***

The WPD will be participating in the National Drug Take-Back Initiative with the DEA:

  • this Saturday, April 24th
  • 10am to 2pm
  • Warrenton Police Station (225 S. Main Ave.)
  • Drive-thru, curbside Drop-Off by the 2nd Street entrance

We will accept all prescription meds, over-the-counter meds, vitamins, liquids, patches, and sharps. We have a limited supply of FREE medication lock-boxes we will be giving away (until they are gone).

Recycling Reminder

Please do not put glass in your recycle can. Recology has been experiencing repeated problems of people putting glass in the recycling cans. Glass can be taken to the recycling depot (across from the Warrenton Post Office) or put in your regular trash cans. It can also be taken to the transfer station. Please recycle responsibly. Thank you!

The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Jan. 18, 2021, is the 26th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy.
Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

Notice of Meeting Location Change

The January 12, 2021 City Commission meeting, Public Hearing and Urban Renewal Agency meeting will be held in the Warrenton Community Center – 170 SW 3rd Avenue, at 6:00 p.m. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be limited seating. *Face masks are required. 

The Warrenton Community Center is accessible to the disabled.
